It’s often hard for me to figure out what’s best for me because what I think is best for me turns out to be the exact opposite.
I made a lot of blunders while making judgments, but the only good thing that happened to me was that I learned from my mistakes and ended up making the right decisions.

And I am sure you also faced the same problems when it comes to shaping your decisions and your actions; we all get confused, especially those decisions which has a long-term impact on our lives.

Here are some useful tips on decision-making that I’ve picked up from both my failures and the experiences of successful leaders
1.Minimize your options:
Generally, we get confused when we have more than one choice. The more choices we have, the more we get confused in every area of life. It’s called the paradox of choice. Our brain usually thinks in right and wrong, yes and no directions.
Eliminate the options and only focus on those options that matter to you most. This will improve the quality of your life.

Most people focus on problems while making decisions and get entangled in them instead of opting for solutions.
Identify the issue and measure the possibilities. Take a pen and paper and draw a line between those options, then write the pros and cons of each one. As per your understanding and knowledge, choose the option that has the highest chances of success.
2.Seek for advice from experts:
Having the right mentor is like finding treasure in this fake world. Find the ideal mentor by evaluating his or her area of expertise and his student reviews before approaching him for advice.

If you have the right understanding of how to approach the right kind of mentor, you can win the half game. I hardly take advice from other people, but when I am confused, I surely ask for opinions from only those who are more experienced than me and have good intentions for me.
The moment you seek advice from experts, you will get different perspectives to make the right decisions.
3.Listen to your instincts:
Every person has their own opinions based on their own experiences and understandings. Sometimes it works for you and sometimes it does not. It’s not always possible that the outcomes of your every decision will be in your favor.
In that case, I listen to my heart. There’s a phrase that goes, “Follow your heart, but don’t forget to take your brain with you.” It must be clear to you, when you should listen to your heart and when you should utilize your brain power.

For me, when the subject is too sensitive, especially healthy relationships, I refuse to use my brain because these relationships can only last forever with your love, care, and compassion. Don’t play mind games with those who care about you most.
In your career life, you should have a practical mindset due to which you will be able to accomplish all your goals, and if you fail, learn from it and be ready with plan B.
Planning is the most important thing for accomplishing your daily targets, which would turn into a big change.
4. Think in right direction:
If you have that kind of attitude and have confidence in your capabilities, there’s nothing that can stop you from accomplishing your dreams.
There is a short story. The interviewer puts half a glass of water on the table and calls each interviewee to his office. And then ask each interviewee, what you see on the table?

First interviewee who is too optimistic about his life he said the glass is half filled.
The next one came inside. The same question was asked by the interviewer, and, due to his pessimistic nature, he said the glass is half empty.
The third one came and he said the glass was 50% half filled and 50% empty at the same time. That is how, one by one, every person comes and is answered.
The moral of the story is that a meaningful, practical approach with realistic expectations plays an important role in making the right decisions. Don’t be too optimistic or too pessimistic about life. Be realistic, which means to see that the glass as half full and half empty at the same time.
5. Do your own research:
Due to limited information and misinterpretation of data, our thinking and decision-making abilities are affected, which is called cognitive bias.
